In just 159 km and with only 3 stages, you will leave the stress of everyday life behind and immerse yourself in the beauty and diversity of the Central Algarve. The journey begins in Olhão, a charming harbor town with traditional fishing boats.
From there, the tour continues to the capital of the Algarve, Faro, with its historic old town, narrow streets, and impressive cathedral. During the bike tour along the coast, you will be accompanied by endless sandy beaches and the fascinating lagoon landscape of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. Here you will experience the beauty of nature and the diversity of flora and fauna firsthand. You may be lucky and see flamingos, storks, black-winged stilts, white-tailed eagles, or avocets, and collect unforgettable memories.
On your route, you will also see the impressive marina of Vilamoura as well as dreamy, small fishing villages that will enchant you all the way to Armação de Pêra. From Carvoeiro on, you can admire the spectacular coastal landscape. Finally, you will reach Lagos, a historic city with a rich maritime history and an impressive fortress complex. The picturesque old town with its narrow streets and views of the harbor will transport you to the past of sailors and slave markets.

Itinerary
Welcome to the Algarve!
We will greet you either on your day of arrival or, if it falls outside our business hours or on a public holiday, on the first day of your cycling tour. At the welcome meeting, we will perfectly adjust your bike and provide you with all the essential information for your journey.
This is the moment your Algarve adventure truly begins – with comfort, confidence, and a smile.
On the second day, after breakfast, you will set off on a bicycle tour from Olhão to Faro, the capital of the Algarve. On well-maintained and marked roads, you cycle into the historic old town of Faro, which is surrounded by imposing city walls. Pass the marina and the beautifully maintained "Manuel Bivar" park and stroll through the lovely little shopping street. From Faro, the cycle tour continues through the impressive nature reserve "Ria Formosa". You cycle along picturesque lagoons, which are home to numerous water birds, flamingos and storks. The route takes you along the coast on good natural paths, past sophisticated villas, well-kept parks and beautifully landscaped golf courses. Cycle along the promenade in Quarteira until you finally reach Vilamoura, where you will spend the night. Stroll through the large marina with luxurious yachts and enjoy the lively atmosphere of the harbour and indulge yourself in one of the restaurants that offer a variety of culinary delights.
The bike tour starts in Vilamoura and leads along the picturesque coast of the Algarve. Over a small bridge you leave Vilamoura and reach the breathtaking sandy beach of Falesia. You cycle along the beach on an idyllic wooden walkway and enjoy the view of the turquoise sea. The route continues through the town of Olhos de Água and on through lively Albufeira, which is now a popular tourist resort. Here you can explore the narrow streets, visit traditional restaurants and observe the colourful hustle and bustle in the streets. Continue to Galé, a picturesque coastal town with impressive cliffs and hidden sandy coves. On a long wooden boardwalk through the protected dune area "Salgados" you cycle on to the village of Armação de Pêra, your last stop for this trip. Here you should definitely visit the chapel "A Nossa Srª da Rocha", which towers above the sea on a cliff.
Today's bike ride from Armação de Pêra to Lagos along the coast is an absolute highlight. The steep golden cliffs cascading down to the sea are a breathtaking sight. Ride along the wide estuary delta of the Rio Arade, where you can enjoy the picturesque view of the deep blue Atlantic and the sandy bays. The cycle paths take you further along the delta, past the famous "Praia da Rocha" and the charming fishing village of Alvor. Here you can stroll through the winding alleys and experience the authentic atmosphere. Continue along the wide beach "Meia Praia" until you finally reach Lagos. The city is rich in history and culture. Visit the old city walls, the former slave market and the fort "Bandeira". If you still have enough energy, you should definitely cycle the approx. 4 km to Ponta da Piedade. This impressive rock formation is known for its breathtaking cliffs, caves and golden sandy beaches. A detour there is definitely worthwhile!
